Wednesday 12th – Saturday 15th
Wednesday morning the family arrived back from their holiday to the house we had been sitting for the last three weeks. We had spent the previous day trying to gather all our stuff and repack our backpacks (nightmare). We also made sure the house was in top condition for their arrival home – after a 30+ hour journey with two young children we knew they’d want to come back to a warm and clean house!
Saturday 8th October
After our Great Ocean Road adventure yesterday we decided to have a chilled out day, followed by an evening Ghost Tour of Melbourne. Erin found the tour on Groupon – it’s meant to be $20 per person, but we paid $9.
Friday 7th October
Today is Great Ocean Road day. We plan to do as much of the Great Ocean Road as we can, in one day! This is a slight downfall of house sitting. Being responsible for someone else’s house and pets means we can’t have total freedom – it would be good to spend a couple of days travelling the Great Ocean Road! However, we can get a good chunk of it done in one day.
Thursday 6th October
Today is Melbourne Museum day! From 6th October to the 9th they are allowing free entry into the Museum because its a famous racehorses birthday. Perfect opportunity for backpackers on a budget – thank you famous racehorse!
Wednesday 5th October
After our Yarra valley adventures, myself and Erin have a nice little lay in this morning. Definitely over the jet lag, thank god. Once awake I decide I’m going to put my new found cooking skills to the test and make croissants. I soon rope Erin into the plan!
Tuesday 4th October
Today we decided to venture to Yarra Valley – again. But with a proper map in hand. When I say map I mean phone. I downloaded here maps after a recommendation from my dad, its kind of like google maps but can be used offline which is handy when travelling, and trying to avoid data roaming charges.
